I am not “frilled” it’s Monday (hehe!) After spending each weekend with family and getting to go to the beach, Mondays are always tough to say the least, especially since it’s back to taking care of three children by myself. When it comes time to face reality, everyone is just a little bit cranky and certainly overtired. I actually might be worse than the kids these days. My lack of sleep is certainly starting to take it’s toll. At 9 weeks old Tanner is still waking up a fair amount during the night and I just find myself exhausted recently. I do have hope though that we will turn a corner soon…because all babies start sleeping through the night eventually, right? Our pediatrician seemed optimistic and recommended starting to put him to bed earlier when he is tired around 8pm to establish a better sleep routine, instead of putting him to bed later, like we have been doing. It makes sense in theory, but I feel like I got more sleep when Tanner would give us his longest stretch between midnight and 4am or 5am, instead of 8pm until 2am because I obviously never get to bed that early with him. I will keep going with this and trust the experts and pray sleep is in my near future. I do keep reminding myself that this stage will be short lived and hopefully this works and he will be sleeping through the night before we know it! If you have any other tips and tricks I am open ears!
Though this summer has been exhausting it has also been a lot of fun and definitely our best yet. The hours Tanner does not sleep at night he makes up for on the beach, and I’m definitely ok with that. He just goes with the flow like I imagine many third children do. We just plop his bucket car seat under the umbrella each weekend and he falls asleep to the sound of the waves and chatter of everyone around him. Kingsley and Ford are also happiest when swimming or in the sand. We spend everyday when we are home during the week at the pool and the weekends swimming in the bay or ocean. We have also had quite a few parties to attend and fun nights out with and without kids. I recently purchased this adorable ruffle dress for only $60 and have found it to be perfect for so many of these occasions. I love how easy it is to throw on and how perfect it is for summer barbecues and birthdays. I also clearly channelled my inner prep with this Pearl Drop Necklace from Madame Mathilde that goes perfectly with the neckline and ruffles. Some simple studs and sandals and I’m ready to go! This whole outfit definitely is preppy with a twist and I’m in love with it!
Now only 5 more days till Friday!!! Let the countdown begin.
